Warehouse Management System Selection and Integration

Engaged to select and deploy an off-the-shelf Warehouse Management System (WMS) across three tea packaging facilities, our team began with a comprehensive analysis of existing warehouse processes and business requirements. From this analysis, we evaluated the WMS marketplace, narrowed the field to three qualified vendors, and led structured vendor interviews and hands-on software trials to guide a confident, well-informed final selection.

We then supervised the implementation across all three warehouses, partnering directly with the vendor to deliver custom configurations and resolve post-implementation issues — ensuring the system was fully production-ready at each site.

Because the new WMS needed to communicate with existing MES and ERP systems, we evaluated and selected middleware to handle rule-based data transformations between all three platforms, enabling reliable, automated data flow across the technology stack.

To close remaining integration gaps with external vendors and customers, we designed and built a custom web application that allowed remote raw material shipping locations to submit Advance Shipping Notice (ASN) information directly — integrating seamlessly into both the ERP and WMS systems.

As the client's leadership looked to diversify the business — leveraging their deep expertise in commodity trading, manufacturing, and distribution to launch a new IT venture — we trained an offshore development team in modern web application development and third-party control integration, and introduced Agile Scrum methodology to establish a sustainable, disciplined delivery practice for the new team.

Enterprise Application Performance & Architecture Modernization

Manitu was engaged to diagnose and resolve critical performance issues across a suite of internal WinForms applications, our team used ANTS Memory Profiler to identify and eliminate memory leaks that were degrading application stability and end-user productivity.

Beyond stabilization, we extended the platform's capabilities with a custom WPF map control built specifically for locating automotive service centers, giving field teams and customer service staff a fast, visual way to find nearby locations.

On a parallel accident management software initiative, we led an architectural overhaul, introducing the Model-View-Presenter (MVP) pattern and Weak Event design pattern to improve testability, reduce memory-related bugs, and decouple business logic from the UI layer. We also designed a reusable, object-oriented application infrastructure that enforced consistent design patterns across the codebase, reducing duplication and setting a foundation for faster, more maintainable future development.

Touch Screen Process Monitoring & Control System (Patented)

We designed and patented an improved control interface for injection blow molding equipment, replacing conventional controls with a touch screen monitor that gives operators direct, visual control over the manufacturing process across each work station.

The system displays machine components as on-screen icons, each showing the live value of its associated processing parameter. Touching an icon lets the operator instantly graph that parameter's value over time, and adjust set points and alarm limits directly through the touch interface — eliminating the need to navigate separate control panels.

An integrated alarm system continuously monitors all processing parameters, displaying alerts the moment any value falls outside its desired range. Alarm messages cycle automatically when multiple issues occur, with background color distinguishing high-limit from low-limit conditions — giving operators an immediate, at-a-glance read on machine health.
